The AORUS OPEN PUBG Tournament ended on a high note last weekend in Paris, France. After 9 rounds of hard-fought battles, The Happy Campers from the United States completed an incredible comeback and defeated other regional rivals from China, Germany, France, Korea, and Taiwan to lift AORUS OPEN trophy and came away with the grand final champion prize of USD$20,000.

With more than 5,500 teams participated, and through 40 cross-continent qualifiers, the first ever AORUS OPEN is a special duo FPP tournament where players compete in the unique CQB game mode developed by Team AORUS. After 4 months of intense battles all the way from the online qualifiers to the regional finals, the tournament has come down to the ultimate showdown at Paris Game Week. For this two-day grand finale, AORUS partnered with ESL, the world's largest eSports organizer, to set up the highest level of amateur esports PUBG competition. The tournament was also joined by a group of PUBG talents and streaming personalities who serve as the AORS OPEN ambassadors to broadcast the grand final live for their home regions!

Right off the bat, the game was led by Fettarme Milch, the team from Germany made up of two young guns who outperformed the opponents with their amazing skills and teamwork. Duos from the US, France, Korea, and Taiwan made up some ground as the grand final passing its halfway mark, but Fettarme Milch still managed to maintain their competitive edge entering last round of the tournament with a rather comfortable 20-point lead. However, the German team were eliminated by the Taiwanese team MK early in the game, opening the door for the second-place The Happy Campers. The US duo seized this opportunity and took charge with their aggressive offense. Surprisingly they finished the round with the chicken dinner and 6 kills, giving them 22 points to complete the comeback in the last round for an amazing come-from-behind victory. The Happy Campers sealed the deal and crowned as the king of CQB.

After the game, Eddie Lin, GIGABYTE AORUS Marketing vice president, congratulated the champion team and said, “ we are ecstatic to witness such great performance by these young players using our AORUS products and gears. AORUS will continue to play an active role in the gaming community and to bring the ultimate gaming performance with unprecedented delights to gamers worldwide. Let’s Team Up. Fight On!”
